Rural Livelihood Development Programme (RLDP)

RLDP aims at making market systems work better for the welfare of rural producers applying the M4P approach. The programme is currently addressing market constraints in six sub-sectors – namely cotton, sunflower, dairy, rice, poultry and rural radio – in the Central Corridor of Tanzania. RLDP is jointly managed by HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation and Swisscontact and implemented through the Rural LIvelihhod Development Company (RLDC).

For more information visit the Rural Livelihood Development Company's website or download the RLDP factsheet.

More information can be found on the RLDP section of the M4P Hub website.

Mozambique

Private Sector-Led Rural Growth

This project applies an M4P approach with focus on public private development partnerships (PPDPs) with formal value chain actors to leverage investment and commercial activity in pro-poor expansion of value chains, namely soya and pulses. The project will concentrate in the North of Mozambique and specifically on the Nampula and Cabo Delgado Provinces (Nacala Corridor). Following a six-month pilot phase, the three-year implementation phase began in January 2011 and is done by ECIAfrica.
