Programme d'appui au Secteur du Développement Rural (Supporting the rural development sector)
The project supports and strengthens local stakeholder dynamics in rural development to increase productivity and enhance agro-pastoral production in three value chains. By organising stakeholders in promising value chains and improving farmers’ access to quality technical services, income and food security are expected to sustainably increase.
Appui à la stratégie de promotion de la filière karate (Supporting the shea value chain promotion strategy)
The project applies a VCD approach and aims at developing an organized, dynamic and thriving shea value chain in which rural women are less vulnerable, gain independence and food security through the protection, restoration and enhancement of the shea tree, while maintaining natural resources in a sustainable manner. The project is implemented in partnership with the African Institute for Economic and Social Development - African Training Centre - INADES - Training Chad.

This project applies an M4P approach with focus on public private development partnerships (PPDPs) with formal value chain actors to leverage investment and commercial activity in pro-poor expansion of value chains, namely soya and pulses. The project will concentrate in the North of Mozambique and specifically on the Nampulaand Cabo Delgado Provinces (Nacala Corridor). Following a six-month pilot phase, the three-year implementation phase began in January 2011 and is done by ECIAfrica.
